With over 100 years of combined experience, our team of experts skilled in architectural design, state-of-the-art technology and advanced building science has conceived and constructed some of the most distinctive homes in North Texas for over two decades. Our luxury estates are renowned for unique specialty areas and attention to detail that only a designer’s eye would envision and artisans in craftsmanship could deliver.


  • Founder, Principal, Interior Designer

    Betty is the heart and soul of Veranda Luxury Homes, evolving her offerings from interior designer to custom home builder in 2002. Betty oversees all general operations with a critical eye towards architecture and an interior design focus. She is a Certified Master Builder and Certified Green Professional who strives to build the most unique architectural properties that far exceed her clients’ goals. She’s known best for delivering outstanding customer service and building relationships that last years beyond project completion.

  • Partner, Principal

    Jorge brings a diverse skillset to the Veranda team with a background in financial advising and the insurance industry. His background in construction began with funding and developing a residential neighborhood and constructing luxury homes. His passions in land, site development, and real estate led him to pursue luxury home building with a strategic and analytical eye, always mindful of budget and timing.

  • Senior Project Manager

    Rene brings over 16 years of experience in designing and developing small to medium-sized commercial projects, particularly in the food and entertainment industry. As a former owner and operator of multiple QSR restaurants, he has firsthand knowledge of commercial real estate operations. His expertise extends to construction, design, and contract management, enhanced by his law school focus on contracts. This unique blend of skills allows him to navigate luxury home building and commercial developments from both the builder’s and owner’s perspectives. Rene prioritizes schedules, budgets, and efficiencies to ensure projects align with owners' visions and expectations.

    With over 45 years of experience, Mike Kerr has worked on everything from high-production homes to historic East Coast properties and luxury homes in Colorado, Montana, and Texas. He joined Veranda in 2011 with the goal to make the home building process enjoyable and stress-free, with a focus on attention to detail, ethical project management, and blending modern technologies with traditional craftsmanship. Mike has expertise in all phases of construction, site development, building science, and construction management, always prioritizing efficiency. Above all, exceptional customer service is his top priority—ensuring client satisfaction is his commitment.
